Our Dogs for Adoption

This is our page of special dogs ready for foster with view to adoption. Some of the dogs will already be in foster care here in the UK and some may be waiting to travel from Romania.

If you are interested to know more about out dogs please contact us:

Kyro

Kyro is four years old.  In his last home, he was accidently stood on by a child and gave a low level bite.  Who among us hasn't made mistakes?  Probably more than Kyro ever has. He's now stressed in kennels, his skin is red and sore from anxiety.

Benji

Benji - 15 months old

Benji has been passed around for the first year of his life, confused and unsettled.  He's been in kennels for the past four months.  Benji is a joker, a loyal boy who wants to please - he just wants someone to belong to.

Zena

Zena - 9 months old

Rescued from Brixton, London. Dumped and at risk of being used as a breeding machine.  A £200 donation saved her life and secured her freedom.  She's a beautiful, loving, happy girl - her only 'fault' is that she's a big dog.  Without a home she'll spend her first Christmas in kennels.

Daisy

Daisy - 4 1/2 years old.

Originally brought over by a Romanian rescue that later folded. She's been moved from home to home, each time to people who didn't understand the psychology of Romanian dogs.  She's spent most of her life in kennels.  Daisy, like most Rommies, loves other dogs and longs for stability.

Tom Tom

Tom Tom is looking for his forever person.  He is a big, beautiful 2 year old shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as his eyes. Fully vaccinated, he's currently waiting in Goring, near Reading, hoping for a foster-to-adopt home to call his own.

Tom Tom is affectionate, loyal and loves human company.  He'd thrive in a calm home with space to relax and people who enjoy gentle walks and quiet companionship.  He's a loving soul who just wants to belong.

We're looking for a foster-to-adopt home - someone willing to give him the time to settle and fall in love properly before making things official.  All support, guidance and supplies provided by Forget-Me-Not Rescue Reading.

Message the page to apply.

Kiera

Meet Kiera - our gentle bull breed beauty.

Kiera is a 2.5 year old mixed bull bread with the most beautiful nature.  Weighing 35.9kg, she's a solid girl with a soft heart. Kiera adores people and is especially loving and gentle with children, making her a wonderful family companion.

She's recently enjoyed 2 weeks out of kennels in a home environment, where she showed just how affectionate, calm and eager to please she can be.  Kiera walks nicely on the lead, enjoys strolls, and loves nothing more than spending time with her humans.

Keira is fully vaccinated and ready to find her forever home - one filled with love, cuddles and perhaps a comfy sofa of her own.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate and easy going companion, Kiera could be your perfect match.

Poppy and Benji

Poppy and Benji are a boned Cavachon duo.  They are 8 years old, fully vaccinated, neutered and have the full rescue back-up.  These guys are ready to be fostered with view to adopt.

Poppy and Benji are currently in foster in Reading Berkshire.  An adorable bonded pair ready to steal your heart.  These two fluffy lovebugs are gentle, affectionate and happiest when they are together.

These two are wonderful family dogs who enjoy a calm but fairly active home - think nice walks, pottering about, and lots of sofa snuggles.

Poppy has a heart condition, but it absolutely doesn't slow her down.  She's on medication which keeps her well, and we will fully fund her current heart meds for any home that takes them on.

These dogs are soft, cuddly, endlessly loving and great with families.  If you can open your home to these two we would love to hear from you.

Woody

***RESERVED***

Meet Woody

Woody is our 8 year old Dalmation.  This gorgeous boy is large, spotty and absolutely full of love.

Woody is fully vaccinated and neutered, the gentlest soul with a beautiful nature.

He is fantastic with children and adults alike. He is loyal, loving and happiest when he with his humans.  He just needs a comfy sofa to curl up  on.

Woody does have some lead reactivity towards other dogs, but we fully support adopters with training and guidance.  He cannot live with cats and needs to be the only dog in the home.

Nala

Meet Nala

Nala was a long term resident of OEH kennels.  She was loved by the kennel team but abandoned by her rescue.  She even had a home at one point but was returned.  Then her rescue wanted to send her back to Romania.

Why? who knows, but we are not in the habit of returning dogs to Romania when they've been here for two years.

So we brought her under Forget-Me-Not Rescue Reading and moved her closer so we could actually get to know her.

And just....WOW.

Nala is hilarious.  She's confident, she's clever. Plus, she's absolutely thiriving.

She joined an established kennel pack just a few weeks ago and right now our Nala is running the pack purely through her love of play.

This girl is a gem.  When she finds her person, she's going to make the very best dog!

Mary

Meet little Mary

Look at this gorgeous girl! Mary is just 16 weeks old and a beautiful mixed breed pup with long legs for days running . We expect she'll grow into a medium to large dog.

All her brothers and sisters have already been adopted, but Mary is still waiting for her family.

What we know about Mary

Microchipped and fully vaccinated

Fantastic with other dogs

Well socialised

Playful, bright and super sweet.

When we met her she proudly nibbled the tops of my brand new wellies and tried to start a game of tug with the lead - she's an absolute character and honestly the cutest girl.

If you're interested in adopting Mary, drop us a message and we will put you in touch with the rescuer.

Cody

Cody is 4. and half years old and came to the UK from Romania under our rescue four years ago. He has been in his home ever since, deeply bonded to his owner, who has now made the decision to rehome him.

Cody is very attached to his person. Because of this, any transition into a new home must be slow, structured, and under the direction of our rescue trainer, who has worked with Cody since he was a baby. We will be fully involved in supporting his move and settling-in period.

About Cody

Cody is typical of many Romanian dogs:

• He does not cope well in busy or chaotic environments

• He struggles in high-footfall areas

• He has reactivity to other dogs

• He needs a confident, calm handler willing to continue training

Anyone applying for Cody must be prepared to work alongside us and commit to ongoing training and management. This is non-negotiable. Cody deserves someone who will invest in him completely.

What We’re Looking For

The perfect home for Cody would be:

• A quiet, low-traffic household

• No other dogs

• No young children

• An experienced owner who understands nervous/reactive dogs

• Someone patient, consistent, and emotionally invested

• A secure garden (rural or semi-rural would be ideal)

Cody needs someone who will help him feel safe first — the rest will come once trust is built.

The Practical Bits

• Fully vaccinated

• Microchipped

• Recently castrated

• Known to us since arrival in the UK

• Ongoing trainer support included

We are incredibly fond of Cody. We have known him his entire life in the UK, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to secure the right home — not just the next home.

We will invest the time, support, and training needed to help Cody transition safely.

If you believe you could be the steady, committed person Cody needs, please message us at forgetmenotreadingrescues@outlook.com

Cody is currently in the Reading area. We are looking for a home near to our rescue.

If I had a room for this darling boy he would come to me. But I don’t so I need to try my very best for him.
