Our Dogs for Adoption

This is our page of special dogs ready for foster with view to adoption. Some of the dogs will already be in foster care here in the UK and some may be waiting to travel from Romania.

If you are interested to know more about out dogs please contact us:

Kyro

Kyro is four years old.  In his last home, he was accidently stood on by a child and gave a low level bite.  Who among us hasn't made mistakes?  Probably more than Kyro ever has. He's now stressed in kennels, his skin is red and sore from anxiety.

Benji

Benji - 15 months old

Benji has been passed around for the first year of his life, confused and unsettled.  He's been in kennels for the past four months.  Benji is a joker, a loyal boy who wants to please - he just wants someone to belong to.

Zena

Zena - 9 months old

Rescued from Brixton, London. Dumped and at risk of being used as a breeding machine.  A £200 donation saved her life and secured her freedom.  She's a beautiful, loving, happy girl - her only 'fault' is that she's a big dog.  Without a home she'll spend her first Christmas in kennels.

Nala

Meet Nala

Nala was a long term resident of OEH kennels.  She was loved by the kennel team but abandoned by her rescue.  She even had a home at one point but was returned.  Then her rescue wanted to send her back to Romania.

Why? who knows, but we are not in the habit of returning dogs to Romania when they've been here for two years.

So we brought her under Forget-Me-Not Rescue Reading and moved her closer so we could actually get to know her.

And just....WOW.

Nala is hilarious.  She's confident, she's clever. Plus, she's absolutely thiriving.

She joined an established kennel pack just a few weeks ago and right now our Nala is running the pack purely through her love of play.

This girl is a gem.  When she finds her person, she's going to make the very best dog!

Cody

Cody is 4. and half years old and came to the UK from Romania under our rescue four years ago. He has been in his home ever since, deeply bonded to his owner, who has now made the decision to rehome him.

Cody is very attached to his person. Because of this, any transition into a new home must be slow, structured, and under the direction of our rescue trainer, who has worked with Cody since he was a baby. We will be fully involved in supporting his move and settling-in period.

About Cody

Cody is typical of many Romanian dogs:

• He does not cope well in busy or chaotic environments

• He struggles in high-footfall areas

• He has reactivity to other dogs

• He needs a confident, calm handler willing to continue training

Anyone applying for Cody must be prepared to work alongside us and commit to ongoing training and management. This is non-negotiable. Cody deserves someone who will invest in him completely.

What We’re Looking For

The perfect home for Cody would be:

• A quiet, low-traffic household

• No other dogs

• No young children

• An experienced owner who understands nervous/reactive dogs

• Someone patient, consistent, and emotionally invested

• A secure garden (rural or semi-rural would be ideal)

Cody needs someone who will help him feel safe first — the rest will come once trust is built.

The Practical Bits

• Fully vaccinated

• Microchipped

• Recently castrated

• Known to us since arrival in the UK

• Ongoing trainer support included

We are incredibly fond of Cody. We have known him his entire life in the UK, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to secure the right home — not just the next home.

We will invest the time, support, and training needed to help Cody transition safely.

If you believe you could be the steady, committed person Cody needs, please message us at forgetmenotreadingrescues@outlook.com

Cody is currently in the Reading area. We are looking for a home near to our rescue.

If I had a room for this darling boy he would come to me. But I don’t so I need to try my very best for him.
